_{TPS STAR VALUES:SERVICE}

This half term, our children showed what Service truly means. As part of our Harvest Festival celebrations, they asked for your support in collecting for the Christchurch Food Bank, and as ever, our community responded with incredible generosity. Thank you so much!

On Monday, a small group of children helped us deliver the donations. The volunteers were so grateful and told us their shelves are now wonderfully full, thanks to schools across Christchurch coming together this harvest season. They expect to have enough to support local families through half term and into the Christmas period.

Experiences like this matter. They show our children that their efforts make a real difference to people facing hardship in our community. Thank you for helping them see that.

A special 'thank you' to Skye in Stigs for suggesting we do this, for creating a wonderful poster and doing an assembly!

_{ROCK STAR ROCKS TWYNHAM PRIMARY!}

Twynham Primary School was buzzing with excitement this week as world-famous Australian rock star Alfonso made a special appearance to launch Times Tables Rock Stars!

Thrilled fans lined the corridors to welcome our legendary visitor, who brought the school hall to life with electrifying guitar riffs, booming rock beats and, of course, some lightning-fast times tables! Children cheered, clapped and chanted along as Alfonso showed everyone that mastering multiplication can be both fun and exciting.

To celebrate the launch, Alfonso officially kicked off our Battle of the Bands competition, which began at 8:45am on Friday 2nd October and will run for one week. The challenge is on, with Year 6 taking on Year 5 in an epic battle to see who can become the ultimate Times Tables Rock Stars champions!

We would love all parents and carers to get behind the challenge by encouraging children to log on, practise regularly and earn as many points as possible. Every correct answer helps their class move closer to victory.

So warm up those fingers, tune those imaginary guitars and get ready to rock! Together, let's make Twynham Primary School the home of the greatest times tables superstars around!

_{SCHOOL NURSE DROP IN SESSION}

We are pleased to let you know that Fiona, from the Dorset Healthcare Nursery Nurse Team, will be holding a parent drop in session on Monday 9th November between 8.45am and 9.45am.  There is no need to book; places are on a first come, first served basis on the day. 

She can offer advice on a range of topics including sleep, toileting, eating and general parenting.  She cannot diagnose general medical ailments (rashes etc.) and the sessions are for parents and carers only.

 

 

_{TPS COFFEE MORNINGS}

We are pleased to invite parents and carers to join us for one of our School Coffee Mornings.

These informal gatherings are a lovely opportunity to come along, enjoy a hot drink and biscuit, and have a relaxed chat with members of our staff team.

The coffee mornings provide a welcoming space for parents and carers to:

• Share ideas, knowledge and experiences.
• Ask questions and chat informally with staff.
• Meet and connect with other parents and carers.
• Share thoughts and suggestions about our school community.

There is no formal agenda — just an opportunity to come together, have a chat and share ideas in a friendly and relaxed environment.

We would love to see you there!

Please see below the Woodland Wednesday Schedule for the Autumn Term..

On their specific dates, the children will need to wear appropriate clothing, including waterproofs if the weather is due to be wet – please be aware they may get mucky, so old clothing would be best, and some spare clothes to change into following the activity in the event of wet weather is also advised.

_{TPS HOUSE COMPETITIONS}

Year 5 and 6 children have been given the opportunity to sign up to take part in our TPS House competitions.

The matches will take place in the afternoon of the dates detailed below. If your child has signed up to play in these matches they will need to bring in a full PE kit and shin pads on these dates.

_{CLASS ASSEMBLIES}

We’re delighted to invite parents to celebrate your child’s learning and achievements by joining us for their class assembly.

Each term, children in Year 1 - 6 have the opportunity to share their learning and experiences with the school. Parents and carers are warmly invited to attend the upcoming assemblies on the dates listed below.

Please arrive at the hall door by 2:45pm. After the assembly, please make your way to the playground for the usual class pick-up routine.

NHS Guidance - Is my child too ill for school?

It can sometimes be difficult to know whether your child should stay at home from school when they are unwell. The NHS has put together this helpful guidance sheet, which provides advice on when children should stay off school based on different illnesses and symptoms.

Opening Our Schools to the Community

We’re pleased to share that Twynham Learning is partnering with Schools Plus, the UK’s leading school lettings provider.

Through this partnership, our schools will be available for community use outside of the school day. This will give local sports clubs, activity groups, charities, businesses and community organisations more opportunities to make use of our fantastic facilities.

The schools involved are:

• Stourfield Infant School

An added benefit is that income from lettings will be reinvested back into our schools, helping us continue to provide the best possible environments for our pupils.
